Fatal motorcycle crash April 25, 2008

Fatal motor vehicle crash   2008-04-28

 

 


On 4/25/08 at 15:48 members of the Brunswick Police and Fire Departments responded to a single motorcycle crash on Route 1 in Brunswick. 
On 4/26/2008 the Brunswick Police Department was advised that the male operator of the motorcycle, 44 year old Larry Worster of Rockland, Maine, has passed away from his injuries at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
The Brunswick Police Department will continue its investigation into the cause of the crash. No further information is available at this time.

On Saturday April 26, 2008 at about 1 P.M. a bomb threat was received at the Walmart Store in Brunswick. As a result the store was evacuated of all employees and customers. Brunswick Police searched the building with the assistance of K-9 teams from Brunswick Naval Air Station, the Maine State police and the South Portland Police Department. Once the store was deemed safe people were allowed back in. An ongoing criminal investigation into this matter is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Brunswick Police Department at 725-5521.

On April 28, 2008 at approximately 8:45 P.M. Brunswick Police and Fire Departments responded to 225 Old Bath Road for a single vehicle collision. The vehicle was driven by a female, the vehicles lone occupant, accompanied by two dogs.
Responding personnel found a sport utility vehicle head on into a tree in the driveway of 225 Old Bath Road. The driver was taken immediately to Midcoast Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The dogs were in good condition and taken by Brunswick Animal Control to the local animal shelter.
The crash appears to be alcohol related and is still under active investigation by the Brunswick Collision Reconstruction Unit. The name of the deceased will not be released until notification has been made to the next of kin.

UPDATE April 29, 2008

The identity of the female who died in the single vehicle automobile crash which occurred in the vicinity of 225 Old Bath Road in Brunswick on April 28, 2008 at approximately 8:45 P.M. was Juanita Clough (age 55) of James Street in Brunswick. Her next of kin has been notified.
The cause of the crash continues to be under investigation.
